Balance Your Chakras – Balance Your Life

Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it simply changes form.  To block the natural flow of energy can result in disaster, the same can be said within your body and soul.  Translating to “wheel,” Chakras (shock-raz) embody the flow of energy, thoughts and feelings, desires, and physical reactions within you.  The cascade of energy within the body can actually be detected through medical devices such as the Electrocardiograph (EKG,) viewing the nerve centers in the body from the base of your spine to the top of your head.  Achieving balance within your 7 main Chakras will bring peace, happiness and sublime to your life.  Have an imbalanced Chakra and you can experience anxiety, depression, disorder, stress and fear, among the possibility of physical symptoms.

Each Chakra is associated with its own color – the 7 main colors of the light spectrum.  Have you ever discovered your “aura?”  Each color of the light spectrum processes an electromagnetic wave that can effect your aura.  Your aura can change with your mood…and you can change your aura by balancing your Chakras…Still with me?  Along with incorporating certain colors when it’s needed, there are other ways to help balance your energy flow.  From the foods you eat, to the sounds you hear, to the jewelry you can wear.  Take note of any negative thoughts or feelings you may have…and learn how to counteract it within your Chakras.  For fun, find your aura here!

The Root Chakra – Muladhara

Located at the base of the spine, in the tailbone, the Root Chakra is responsible for our survival instincts and sense of security.  When it is in balance we feel secure, stable, healthy, and energetic.  When it is out of balance we can feel alienated, angry, lethargic.  An imbalance in the root chakra can also leave us with physical symptoms like lower back pain, sciatica, and constipation.

Positive Affirmations I AM.

I am safe.  I am secure.  I am grounded.  I belong in this world.  I have all that I need.  I am where I need to be.  I am at peace with my surroundings, with the people and events that occur.  I trust more and fear less.

The Sacral Chakra – Svadhishthana

Located in the lower abdomen area, below the belly button.  The sacral chakra is linked with your feelings, emotions, creativity and, most of all, your sexuality.  When it is in balance, we feel graceful, creative, flexible and sexually fulfilled.  When it’s out of balance, we feel irritable, shy, inept, and lack intimacy.  Physically, we can also experience lower back pain, low sex drive, or urinary, digestive and menstrual problems.

Positive Affirmations I FEEL.

I acknowledge my uniqueness.  I am a sensual and creative being.  I attract only whole and nurturing relationships into my life.  My senses are alive and connected.  I embrace life with passion and feel abundant joy.  I am radiantly beautiful, healthy and strong.

The Solar Plexus Chakra – Manipura

The solar plexus chakra is in your stomach, under your ribs.  It connects our ego, will, and personal power.  When it is in balance, we feel harmonious, protected, and comfortable with ourselves and others.  When it’s out of balance, we can encounter depression, fear and confusion.  We can also experience stomach pain, arthritis and even diabetes.

Positive Affirmations I DO.

I do enough.  I am more than enough.  I accept myself and stand confidently with my power.  I respect differences and express my identity without imposing my will upon others.  I am in harmony with all I see.  I live with integrity.

Our third eye is located on the forehead, between the eyebrows.  It regulates our intuition, thoughts and dreams.  A balanced third eye chakra can promote an open, focused and deep spiritual connection, strong morale, and allow us to easily determine between truth and illusion.  Having an unbalanced third eye can bring moodiness, distrust, judgement, imbalance and sleeplessness.  We can also experience headaches, nightmares, or confusion.

Positive Affirmations I SEE.

The Crown Chakra – Sahasrara

The crown chakra is at the top of our head and it connects us to our higher consciousness.  When the Sahasrara is balanced, we feel spiritual and faithful, strong and trusting in our connection with living in the “now.”  When it’s unbalanced, we can feel depressed, fear of alienation, and aimless.   Physically, we can also experience exhaustion or sensitivity to light and sound.

Ok, that was a lot of information!  To begin to balance yourself, I would start by just saying the “positive affirmations” to yourself and notice how saying these things, and actually believing them (keyword,) can seem to immediately bring peace and calmness!

  • I am.
  • I feel.
  • I do.
  • I love.
  • I speak.
  • I see.
  • I understand.

Which chakra do you need balancing?!
